Double check me on the Firearms law please.
« on: August 06, 2010, 07:03:32 AM »
I'm leaving for Ontario in a couple weeks for a bear hunt.  Last time I checked the Remington semi auto rifles with 4rd magazines were perfectly legal to take up there.  I plan on taking a Remington 750 22" 30-06 up there with a 4 rounds magazine and maybe another 2 spare magazines.  It's been two years since I crossed the border with a firearm and I wanted to double check that I'm still legal and don't loose my rifle at the border.  I tried checking the official websites, but they seemed to be down for some reason so I thought I'd ask here.

Am I good to go?

Since you need to register the rifles on the US side of the border they should be aware of any changes.

any firearm i take out of country i take to a customs office before hand to have documented as owned by me. Its a form that is filled out and you keep the form. It could save a hassle on yor return.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

Anything of value, particularly with a serial no. should be registered or gotten some sort of documentation from your departure country as proof of ownership. If you are a pack rat ;) you might still have the sales slip, that'll work as well.
