illinois,

Sound like you received a Talo Trapper 357 Mag, nice present!  I had to buy mine and then got in trouble with my wife when I brought it home. ;D   I only shoot handloads so I am not going to be any help to you on factory ammo selection.  Welcome to the forum and I would expect you will have a few folks suggest you ream your gun to 357 Max.   ;D

Tom, why would we suggest he ream it to Maximum?  It couldn't be for the versatility, accuracy and fun of shooting 3 different calibers in one rifle, could it?  My shortie Maxi Handi surprised me this weekend smacking jugs and gongs at over 150 yards with .38s.

My two Maxis, 16.5 inch and 22 inch, like 158 gr. in .38s and .357s and 180 gr. in the Maximum.  They don't handle 125 escpecially well, even before they were reamed to Maximum.

A lot of guys shot the Shorty this weekend at the shoot, with many very positive comments.  Most were surprised at what it could do.
