Anybody ever try it? The idea is to get enough to eat carrying only salt and pepper for seasoning. My middle son and I have done it when the first week of squirrel season came in. we camp in the middle of a section that has a small pond and a wooods nearby we can hunt. The first night it was late by the time camp was set up and no supper. The next morning we were blanked on squirrels so went to fishing, 3 or 4 small bluegills and finally 2 bass about 1 pound each. We stopped fishing and went to cooking. My son looked at me and said, "Dad, thank God for bass." The next 2 days we had enough squirrel, fish, frogs, and a turtle to feed us. Primitive camping, packed in our own drinking water, went to bed when it got dark and up at first light. I aim to try it again.
