Beater Holster Suggestions

Alright guys, give me some advice on a good, rough use leather holster for my "beater" GI 45. Nothing fancy, expensive, or pretty, as it will be beat up by vegetation and who knows what else. I thought about the gi shoulder holster, but some might find it threatening and commando-esque. Im not a big fan of plastic or nylon holsters. Non-concealable, btw. Thanks!

Hmmm, those Ross holsters seem juuuust right, thanks! Ps, I didnt know Bianchi doesnt make holsters that allow cocked n locked carry.

The Bianchi holster in the first link does carry cocked and locked. I have an older one in black. The only problem I have with it is that it wasn't made for extended thumb safeties. So the snap interferes with the safety. Might be different on the new ones since the one in the picture has one. That might not be a problem with your GI pistol. I don't have a Ross but I have been looking at them pretty hard. I have seen their work in person and it seems really nice for the price.

Go down to your local Army and Navy store and pick up a mil-spec belt holster for the 1911.  They used to keep my 1911s clean and dry, even when I wasn't...

WHY does it have to be inexpensive to be a beater scabbard?
What is wrong with scaring up a GOOD holster?
The more use one shows makes it more appealing in my mind.
Get you a good Horseshoe and scratch it up real good.

Tripple K makes some good stuff that is cheaper than the Galco, Bianchi, and safari land stuff I also own.
But if you mean beater I would go plastic like a Fobus.  For $35 bucks or less .... Paddle to slip in the jeans or to ues with a belt.
I have one for a K frame I bought to have something till I got leather.  Now I actually like it.

He had some nice brown ones with a leather belt and double clip holder for about the same price last week.  If you watch their site, they often get in lots of them, but they don't last long.  ;)

+1.........the standard M12 military holster by Bianchi is in my opinion the best field holster out there.  When used with the flap it completely protects the gun and it comes with everything needed to change it over to a quick release strap style.  Rides low enough it doesn't get in the way and can be used strong arm side or cross draw.  Even has a cleaning rod neatly stuck inside.

You might try "Simply Rugged" holsters, these are made for hard use, you can also add the chest carry straps and carry it a couple different ways.
They are leather, and a fair price.
