Hello yall and thanks in advance. I am getting back into trapping after most of 30 years not doing much. I know a lot has changed, well some anyway. I remember we had to get rid of some beaver years ago, and used snares. They worked great, but what I am looking for, is a good lock. We used some that were thin metal, like sheet metal thin, and one that was a thicker one, what a slot cut in it, and it would when turned over, hold the cable open real good. I have heard about washers, but have no experience with them at all. Which do you like best. I will reuse these if I can, but if cheap enough, I wont worry, and do plan to make my own up, as I need a lot of them. Here in Tennessee there are a lot of beaver, and they do have to go. Season is open year round, but the main thing here is the damage to the trees, and flooding of crops.
Also, is there a way to reuse those cable stakes, and please forgive my ignorance, I dont know if it will even hold beaver, but some places I can set snares, there is nothing to tie to, and would sure be nice.
Thanks again.
