Best scanner ???
« on: November 15, 2010, 08:37:20 AM »
Need some advice on buying a scanner. Want to hear public safty in TN, marine, ham? and CB?
Don't want to spend over $150 to $200. Also best choice for CB antenna on a full size pick up.

Thanks

Go with a bearcat. I have a BC250 which I prefer over radio shack scanners of which I have one also. The bearcat has a nice large display and the radio shack scanner does not. Also the bearcat is much easier to program. As to your question of a cb antenna  I use a 48" Francis fiberglass with a mirror mount.
Life is like a coin you can spend it any way you wish. But you can only spend it once.

I have two Uniden Bearcat Scanners.  The handheld Sportcat handles lots of programmable channels.  Its battery operated, and usually runs down when I want to use it.   The Speaker is a little weak in a noisy area.   The Base station is what I like best.  I have a small outdoor antenna that helps pull in more channels.  Both these units are OLD.  So they're proven to be worth the money.
Enjoy your rights to keep and bear arms.

Listen online for free. I havent listened to TN but I have listened to Ohio and it works pretty good.
