870 stocks

Are  870s synthetic "universal thumbhole"  and the new Handi grip the same? Just saw a bunc down at bass pro and was wondering. They wanted $65 there.

The Handi-Grip stock was modeled after the Remington Sureshot stock.

so they are similar , but not interchangeable? I thought since Rem owned Marlin owned H&R, maybe they were the same, I tought I remembered someone here saying the Handi-grip was "the same" as the Rem stocks, just wanted to be sure 'cause I might have bought one.
