XL7 Boltgun

Does anybody have one and what do you think? My son won one Saturday in 25-06. We are looking forward to shooting it just have to load up some bullets.

I have a XS7 in .308, but bought it and then deployed. Hopefully by this time next month I can give a report on it, as I will be home!

I have the same gun, camo version.I put a nikon scope on it and it is very accurate. Let it cool good after two or three shot group.  If yours came with the scope mount already on the gun, remove screws and use loctite when reinstalling.

It did come with a scope mount and scope. It is a RMEF drawing rifle it came with the gun from Marlin. Not sure of the scope it has no markings other than the scope power. I will loctite the screws like you say. Thanks.

I do have the XL7 in 25-06.  In my humble opinion, Marlin XLs/XSs in plastic stock ain't purdy, but do love the accuracy of mine.  I do my job and reloads are right, rifle gives me groups under 3/4" at 100 yards easily.  Easy to adjust factory trigger pull to a lower Lb. setting to suit you.  Read some posts elsewhere on removing pressure points in barrel channel at end of stock to improve accuracy.....I did this and seemed to help.  Marlin XLs and XS rifles are a real bargain when it comes to buying an accurate rifle.

Thanks Huffmanite that good to know I am working on getting some reloads done up. Hoping on getting some shooting done this weekend with it.  I will check on removing pressure points on the forend.
