Hi new here! quick question's about my Pardner 20
« on: August 25, 2010, 09:24:50 PM »
I was wondering the other day what year my lil ol Pardner was.  Since it was my grampa's and all for a the huntin he did with it got me wondering.  OK, now I read the FAQ and I kinda think I got the just of it, but I must be wrong because it is a gem no rust very very little blueing loss so it cant be what year I think it is.  Heres the info on my gun Pardner Model SB1   Serial #NB220xxx from what I got there is NEF Serial numbers all start with N  so the nex is a B which would make it a 1941?  Someone please correct me.

Sorry for going off on a rant, my 2nd question is I know NEF and most shooter guns like my nice plinker 1955 Ruger RST-4 dont go up much in value.  Why is that?  Blue book puts Nef's round 100 or under no matter what age.  My example is why is a 60 year old gun in great condition worth the same as a new one?  A common Topps card from 1955 is like $5, but one from 1993 is 5cents.  I know it is all about common demand, and what not, but I really wish someone could point me in a good direction, or a good site that could better explain things, thanks for letting me rant.  1st post jitters :)

If it is an NB it's a 1987 N prefix denotes NEF then B is year it was made. If it was just B it would be 1941. I recently bought a 1940 H&R 12ga serial # started with A only paid $60 for it. I don't mind the prices when I can find deals like that.

cool, thought it was newer, theres just somthing about them , popped 3 coons yesterday with some old slugs, just to test my aim, 3 shots, 3 kills.  no suffering.  I hate to see anything suffer. But I TRAPPED THEM in a live trap mooved um 3 miles away, back again botherin my cats, nothing bothers my cats, in fact if you have a mole problem all you need is a good cat, well that and a PARDNER to keep the coons away from the cat)  thanks for the response!

Saw 3 used ones in one shop. An NR serial with a camo taped stock, an oily (oil covers up stuff) 88 Topper, and an apparently unfired NT serial. All 22" modified. $75-85 OTD. The unfired one is in my trunk now.
