What is the magazine box length on a short action Ruger 77. I am interested in rebarreling a 77 to 6.5 x 284 Norma but wanted to see if it would be worth it. No point in doing it if I can't stick the bullets out of the case a little ways.

I have a short action in 243 and my OAL is 2.75 giving me maybe .10 or so space before the bullet nose touches the mag walls.

#2 brother used a Long Action Ruger for his 6.5-284 Norma. I do not know the why. It might have because that is the action he had in hand.
