Marlin Guide Gun and Ammo Feed
« on: August 10, 2010, 03:34:55 PM »
Dear Friends:
I have a question for a friend. He bought a new Marlin 45-70 Guide Gun
and it will not feed the Hornady 325 grain Leverevolution ammo. It has
no problem feeding any other flat or round tip ammo. Is this a common
problem? My Guide Gun feeds anything without a hiccup.

Thanks,
Rifle Man

He bought a new 45/70---- and it will not feed the Hornady 325 Grain !! Have a look and see where it might be catching . Then ask where you got the gun or better still phone Marlin , before you do anthing to the gun. After you have tinkered with it, Marlin may afterwards not want to fix it .

The company ( Marlin ) seems to be quite good @ service , so give them a chance .

Take it back to the dealer,  put the burdon on him he sold the gun and your friend bought it in good faith. Dealers should have more pull with Marlin. Maybe exchange with distributor. I have heard of a few that have trouble with LE but an easy fix from Marlin. You would think they would check them closer before they go in the box.

They make a new magazine follower that is concave to align the gummy tips, if you notice the factory mag follower is flat. Call Marlin and get a new follower.
