Ultra Slug Hunter no ejection..
« on: September 04, 2010, 03:00:54 PM »
I did a search for this particular problem, but didn't find one.  If you do find one just link it in this post. Thanks!

I was at the range and fired a total of 13 rounds through my 20 Gauge Slug Gun.  Out of 13 rounds only 4 ejected, the rest had to be done by inserting a rod through the barrel.  Anyone encountered this? I do not know if it was the type of shells I was using or something with the gun itself.  I was firing Hornady SST's 2 3/4.  Any help or information would be appreciated!

Could be your extractor spring broke partially or has some crud in there making it bind.  I'd remove the extractor (steps in faq) and clean it out and lube it well.  Might have even rusted inside that little tube if it got wet at some point.  Be a starting point anyway.  8)

Ejectors are infamous for not ejecting, that's the biggest reason why centerfire rifles now have mechanical extractors, have for several years, read the ejector tune info in the FAQs and polish the chamber which is also in the FAQs, that should get it working again. if that doesn't help, contact H&R and make arrangements to have it returned for repair, toll free (866)776-9292.  ;)
