Dress properly, seasonal weather changing.
« on: August 28, 2010, 05:00:38 AM »
When venturing out while there is still good weather, remember to bring along warm clothing.  Temps dropped drasticly last night, as the temp hit 32* in Glacier National Park.  I wake up this morning to 43* here in Kalispell, and GNP is still at 33*

Archery Only Season is upon us opening Sept 4th, remember to dress accordingly and pack some warmer clothing along if you intend to be in the outdoors for an extended hike, that could lead into late evening or possible camping out over night.  Don't be fooled by warm day time weather in the high 70's and into the 80's, weather is also subject to change rapidly.

Plan ahead and be safe.

Got our first snow up in the Rockies today, I'm guessing it is at the 7K foot level like was reported to happen.  I'm actually hoping to get some more, as opener starts next Saturday the 4th, and I will be bowhunting for elk first.

...UNSEASONABLY COLD LOW TEMPERATURES WITH PATCHY FOG MONDAY
MORNING...

THE STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT HAS BROUGHT SIGNIFICANTLY
COLDER WEATHER TO THE REGION THE WEEKEND WILL BEGIN TO EXIT TO
THE EAST TONIGHT. AS IT EXITS...SKIES WILL CLEAR WITH STRONG
RADIATIONAL COOLING ALLOWING TEMPERATURES TO PLUNGE WELL BELOW
NORMAL. LOW TEMPERATURE VALUES IN THE SIERRA VALLEYS WILL DROP
INTO THE 20S WITH A HARD FREEZE LIKELY...WITH LOWER TO MID 30S
AND FROST LIKELY IN THE OUTLYING VALLEYS OF NORTHEAST CALIFORNIA
AND NORTHWEST NEVADA.

Glacier National Park is 29* right now with an expected drop to 17* thru the night with a high tomorrow of 47* then dropping back down to 22* at night.
