Any A-bolt .284 owners?
« on: August 28, 2010, 04:25:55 PM »
How many .284 owners are on here? I have a Hunter grade .284 and while I love it, it's been impossible to find any extra mags for it. Of course I've never needed a extra mag for it, just wanted 1. Anyway it's been my go to deer rifle for years.

I can only wish I was one of the lucky few to have snagged one of the .284 A Bolts. Always liked the odd cartridges. That one happes to be a very good one. I do have several A Bolts and all are superbly accurate.

Yes,  I bought an A-Bolt Micro-Medallion in 284 a few years ago. It's in 'mint' condition & came with 80 rounds of factory ammo & topped with a Leupold Vari-x-III 1.75-6. I didn't know all that much about the round but did some quick research & jumped on it. I paid $700 for the package & among tough competition it has jumped to about my favorite. I also am set up to reload it with a bunch of fresh brass but I'm still working my way through the factory ammo. I did put a medium Timney spring in the trigger to get the pull where I like it. A buddy has an offer in to buy it off me, not for sale though.

Bought one for my kid when he was in High School.  He is 33 now.  No detachable mag however.  Has a 3.5X10 Leupold.
