Looks like the 63 gr SEI works for Yotes!!
« on: August 30, 2010, 06:27:27 PM »
I went and bought these and the 50gr SEI today. Loaded some up and shot both - the 50 gr didn't perform well in my Colt HBAR 20" 1-7 more load work required. But the 63 gr over 24.6 gr Benchmark running about 2950 fps put the hurt on this yote today pictured below! Though the shot was a little far back- he took a step just as I shot! The hit spun him around -but he never went any where dropped right where he was shot! ;D
Exit wound was about a 1" so I got a good mushroom! ;D

You might want to give the 69 gr. Sierra Matchking a try. They will certainly kill coyotes with authority.

My gun likes them with 22.5 gr. of Benchmark.

I have those as well- and yes they also shoot very well in my Colt!  I  use them on windy days! ;D Since the 63 gr didn't blow up I think they are more of a hunting bullet verses a Varmit bullet!  Sure wish I could have recovered it! ::)
