.358 pics

I was hoping that folks would have some picture of deer from this season that they shot with the .358. Anyone get one this year?

.358 is a very general term. That could mean a 357 Mag, Max, a 358 BFG, 35 Gremlin, 9mmx39 etc. What exactly are you looking for?

I don't mean a .357 but the bfg. I would think that most folks would know that I wasn't talking about a handgun.

I would assume a .358 Winchester cartridge chambered weapon (.308 necked up to .358 like the .35 Whelen necked up from a 30-06).

does anyone have any pictures of killed deer with a .358 bfg or that style of rifle this year? Does this make it a little clearer?

I think he is talking about the 358WSSM which would be a legal caliber in Indiana.

Someone here has a rifle in 358 BFG, seems to me that it may have been Schoolmaster.                               

Maybe he'll be on here to let us know how his deer season went.

Never heard of a 358 BFG.  I assume it is a wildcat made from some other cartridge.

One way to get around Indiana's law.  Short and fat.  They either should specify legal cartridges or just go ahead and legalise rifles.  I think they were originally looking for limited range.  Rifles are legal in Alabama and we don't have a problem.  Most hunting accidents here are people falling out of tree stands.

No pics but shot a fork horn on the first day at 32 yards. Destroyed the top third of the heart and 15 yards to recovery. 200 grain Barnes TSX @ 2640 f/s. Very similar performance to my Savage 45 pac nor barreled muzzleloader. My friend shot two very nice bucks with his .358 BFG this year. His first was a 9 pointer that filed dressed 200 lbs and his second a park reduction hunt buck a 10 pointer that dressed 180. His load was 180 Speer flat point at 2700+ f/s. He shot the 9 at 60 yards high shoulder shot 10 yards to recovery pass through both shoulders. The 10 was taken at 150 yards and through the back of one lung and destroyed most of the liver. He went about 40 yards. He also shot a coyote with a 180 grain Hornady SSP bullet at 20 yards and dang near cut him in two. This bullet very explosive at 2800 f/s or so. I would not shoot deer with it. Pics on Hunting Indiana board.

My buddy kiiled a nice buck last year with Fireball168s  invention 358 Indiana legal, Used a 225 grain Nosler Accubond @ 2500fps,same as a 358 Winny.
punched a hole through both sides,ribs etc with a massive exit.
He sent me pics, looked like a javeline went through him. Was about 120 yrds I think
