Papers please.
« on: September 04, 2010, 05:32:53 PM »
Mother/School teacher busted for refusing to show ID to cops.  Is this what our country is coming to.  Illegals are allowed to waltz across our borders unmolested but US citizen/housewives are interigated on the streets.

In the Austin Texas area, soldiers help with Driver's License check points and vehicle stops. The woman knew here rights but, went to jail anyway. Notice that the police will do what their told REGARDLESS of the actual law, and try and HUNT A CHARGE for an arrest. These knuckleheads arrested her, and had to later figure out what to charge her with. Over my 20 year L.E. career I watched this mindset come into L.E. along with thousands of dollars of government and state grants, with their policies being injected into the dept.

This is nothing new, if a cop stops you walking or driving you must show ID. If you do no have ID they will detain you (throw your butt in jail) until they can ID you.

TM7, did you look like a bum?

Why didn't you tell them to run everybody off that looked like a bum and let the good citizens go and they wouldn't have the problem any more.

I don't get people letting law enforcement/military treat them like they are criminals doing something wrong when they arn't and then takeing the orders as given without protest, that is part of how we got to where we are today, that is giving up personal rights to the state.

Yea,I dont see what the cops problem was. She wasn't Mexican and she wasn't in Arizona. Now if she had been Mexican in Arizona,it would have been just fine to not only ask for ID,but documents establishing citizenship as well, right?

If I were Hispanic (or if for some reason they get another wave polish immigrants) and in Arizona and a cop asked me for my birth certificate or social security car,I would tell him where he could stick it,respectfully of course. You get to see my drivers license and thats it. Of course, the law will be rather ineffective anyway. Paper birth certificates are trivially easy to forge and the system is not set up to check their validity within the time frame of a trafic stop. Illegals also commonly carry fake ID and fake social security cards. The fake IDs are easier to check, but still will probably pass muster, especially if they are based on someones REAL ID,unless they go to fingerprinting. Where I used to live a lot of the local businesses hired illegals. They KNEW they were illegal but still insisted on having a fake ID and social security number so they could have plausible deniability if they were audited. (The reason I say they knew it was because EVERYONE who worked there knew it,and in fact the illegals didn't even try to hide it.)

Kinda where ZZ TOP got thier name. ZZ, ZIG ZAG and TOP. Both brands of rolling papers. And I don't think they were rolling tobacco!
99% of all Lawyers give the other 1% a bad name. What I find hilarious about this is they are such an arrogant bunch, that they all think they are in the 1%.

I imagine the next question would have been "Do you have any illegal drugs on you?" followed by his dog getting to know you.

MY how times have changed…………I grew up in a time when the Cops were actually friendly and helpful, Oh they enforced the law but in a totally different manner.  Thanks to Hollywood, changing makeup of family group, and Dr. Spock things have changed.

I have many friends who are LEOs and don’t see the character traits these guys demonstrated, but watching “COPS” I see evidence of boot jacked police all over the country.  Some of the things you see on these shows truly reflect the mentality of the officer and makes one wonder, “how does he remain on the job?

Eh... a more appropriate & accurate attribution for our militarized police would be, the War on (some) Drugs.

End it.

Nope its gotta be Dr Spock. I dont have to read his book to know its destroyed America! I read it all on the internet. There was a really good article written by a guy who had talked to someone who, while he had not read the book, knew all about how it was telling you to not discipline your children and do whatever they want.
