« on: September 06, 2010, 07:05:26 AM »
I stop this past week at a small gun shop and on the rack I did see a handi with a extra barrel sitting along side the barrel action. The gun was a 223  cal and it had a 7x57 barrel WOW not many 7x57 laying around.I started talking with the owner and after some BS ing he let the barrel go for 120.00 not bad
I think I will replace the 243 cal. with it and see

Been there, done that, got the shirt, got the hat.  Now, I don't sell ANYTHING unless I have at least two, or just plain don't like it.

I tried it last night on a few actions seem to lock up fine on the 2006 action that came with a factory 30-06 barrel.
I really want it too lock on the 2004 action but no luck
I was hoping to use the thumb hole and new forearm stock on the 243 cal.

Congratulations, you are going to like that 7X57 aka .275 Rigby, it's a great cartridge. I'd hate to be without it. It's pleasant to shoot, plenty powerful, & accurate.

My youngest liked his 243 Handi until he got his hands on my (his) 7x57.  :D
I think I lost it forever!  ;)
He is 5 for 5 with it and I don't think you could ever pry it out of his hands!
You will love it.
It isn't fancy, fast or new, but the old 140gr always gets the job done.
