PING PONG PEPPER BALLS
« on: December 19, 2009, 10:30:30 PM »
If I understand correctly, I can legally shoot CN, CS, and Pepper from a Non-DD launcher.  I was thinking a ping pong ball could be filled with pepper by drilling a 1/2" or smaller hole.  The hole could be sealed with tape, then launched.

I was thinking various types of pepper could be used.  The cheapest and most easily available would be regular table pepper.  There are other peppers of course, some much finer ground which would help with dispersion.  Could the liquid hot sauces be used, or could something like vegtable oil be added to the dry pepper for better spread.

I believe that is an anti-person round, which is forbidden. Maybe somebody could verify that?

CS / OC is OK for some reason. Dunno why, but it is.

Done right, good for bears and such.

Ping Pong balls without some sort of solid pusher behind them most likey won't make it down the bore intact.

Ping png balls come in two sizes. Only 38mm ping pong balls fit in a 37mm bore. The 40mm ones are too big.

Even 38mm Ping pong balls wont fit into a 37mm hull.

A ping pong ball can be hot glued to a 35 mm film container. A film container will fit in must brands/styles of hull, leaving the PP ball sticking out the front of the case. It will increase the odds of the PP ball making it out alive.

If you want to put in pepper, it probably needs to be mixed with Cab-O-Sil to get good dispursion cloud.

The filled ball with an empty film container won't weight much, so it may not go all that far. Adding weight in some manner (sand works) to get it up to an ounce or two would help.

I would think finely ground Cayenne pepper would work best for shooting into your gumbo.

I believe I'd go with powdered Habanero.   Getting it to disperse would be problem no. 1...problem no. 2 is keeping it out of your own face. There are hotter peppers, but not as common.  Do a search for Bhut Jolokia, that's the pepper that Pakistan is "weaponizing".

Dunno.  I recall lighting ping pong balls for laughs and I recall it not taking much for them to instantaneously burn up.

See what happens but I would bet on you having a molten mess on your hands.

i would say if your not allowed to shoot rubber balls, pellets or wooden blocks for any reason, I would not shoot a ping pong ball out of it.  You would def make it an anti personel gun then by atf standards.  Just my two  pennies
