Need help on choosing my holster
«

I have a tarus large framed revolver with a 4" barrel and Im having a hard time to find a hip holster that will fit this pistol. the only thing that will work so far that i have seen is the uncle mikes sidekick large hip holster. Im trying to figure out if the ruger alaskan style holster or the S&W 500/460 holster would be a better fit for my pistol.
BTW im left handed so im looking for a left handed holster

I have a 'simply rugged' sourdough 'pancake' holster that carries a 4" Redhawk very well. They are sized to the gun so it may take just a bit to make if yours is not in stock. His site offers details.
Let me also add that a holster with 2 belt loops at either edge holds a lot more snug than one that hangs with one wide loop on the belt.

I use a Bianchi Accumold Camo holster (#7400 I think) for my 4" N-frams and a sidekick for my 6".

You’ll have a hard time beating leather from Simply Rugged or Von Ringler Leather. Von’s Wyoming Combination Holster works well in the field. There's a lot of great holster makers out there and your wallet will probably be the limiting factor. If you purchase quality the 1st time around, it'll last you 20 years with hard use - a lifetime with light use.
