Slugs and beadsights
« on: September 17, 2010, 01:29:17 AM »
Me and a buddy where out shooting the other day, shot some Remington sluggers out of my 28" mod choke 12ga pardner. Was fun, got some pretty good grouping but consistently low, about a foot low... maybe I should have another look at gun-fit or just loosen up on my grip?
Anyway, I got this obsession now of finding out just how accurate I can get with just a bead so I was wondering if anybody has any tips.

Expierament with your cheek weld on the stock. Find out the best for acuracy then do it the same way every time.

Aim small miss small. To change POI (point of impact) with a shotgun using a bead sight you can adjust your aiming point or you can you can bend the barrel. A bead sight with a shotgun and slugs is acceptable/adequate for slugs/deer out to 50-70 yards as long as you are up to it. A shotgun with slugs it likes surely is. Have fun and practice....<><....:)
