Cleaning BT99 action
« on: September 07, 2010, 04:08:23 AM »
About 8 years ago I bought a used BT99 and have probably run over 50000 rounds thru it.  I am concerned about crud buildup inside the trigger and latch area of the action.

I do not have drawings of the internals and do not want to disassemble it.  I have seen ads for a solvent that you can soak the whole action in to wash out the accumulated fouling.

Does this cleaning method work?
Does this introduce any new problems?
What specific solvents are recommended?

Problem solved.

Gander Mountain gunsmith will do it for $60.
