I'm looking at buying a marlin 39 century this is a used gun at in out of state dealer from the pics that i saw it looks good is the 39 century a good rifle can you tell me when they were made from
thank you
Well I could say they are made from metal and wood. But, many could consider that to be sarcastic and I might agree with them.
Aside from the quality steel, the Marlins have been made using a good grade of walnut, in their stock materials. Lower price Marlin models have stocks made from Birch, a good wood, though a less attractive and less costly wood.
I have a Marlin Century model 39 and I dearly love it. I wouldn't turn loose of it for anything.
It's just the decorations that make it the Marlin Century model 39. A standard Marlin model 39 or 39A is the same firearm as the Century model, less the costs of the embellishments and the extra money that people try to charge for them.
Buy the Century model for the satisfaction of owning an iteration of the Marlin 39, that few others will have. It's a great rifle in anyone's language.
