25acp vs 209primer

What is the advantage of the 25acp over the 209 breach plug? I know that you don't need the plastic carriers. Does a 209 fit the 25acp plug or is it different? Awhile back I thought that someone made a plug for the 209 without carriers? I'm using 209's with the carrier,kind of handy in the dead fo winter with cold fingers! Zeak
