Speer#13 lists that powder with the heavier bullets but it does not produce top velocities if this is what you are after.

I haven't analyzed .243 loads and winchester powders.  I do know that in most calibers the listed loads are what they use in there Winchester brand boxed ammunition. Almost always the pressure is 10,000 less than the other powders for the same approximate velocity.  Do the math.  The listed loads are conservative.  It's all about pressure.  This summer I have been discovering powders that have low chamber pressure for the velocity.  Both Winchester 748 & 760 are like that.  Blc(2) is as well.  They don't cover every bullet weight or even caliber.  You have to do some math and start 10% low and ladder up.  Get the basic manual from Hodgdon or go online.  Better yet, call them and ask them.

Hi.....no experience with it in 243...I have used BL-C(2) and found it to be aweful so I'm burning it up as I break-in my new Whalen.  I've also used H414 with mediocre results.  I'm sticking with RL22 and 95 or 100gr bullets.

its probably the powder winchester uses in the factory ammo. Basically its the same powder the 414 is. Ill give you one more recomendation. It seems like i allways get my best accuracy in rounds like the 243 6mm 250 257 ect using a ww primer with it. Its a ball powder and a bit tougher to light off well with a mild primer and i think ww probably did some experimenting to get a proper primer for those ball powders. One more thing is that its on the borderline of being a bit slow for that use and will take a full case of powder to get good velocitys and even then there are powders that may give you a couple more fps if thats a consern to you. To me id gladly give up a 100 fps to shoot tiny little groups.

Years ago it was the powder of choice for some brenchrest hunter class shooters using the 6MM BRL, which is a wildcat but comes pretty close to the 6MM Rem. Very consistent.

760 is comprable to 4350 and 780 is comprable to 4831.

When I first started load for the 243 Winchester in 1979 or so I used Surplus 4831, IMR4350, and WW785 with 105, and 80-grain bullets.  The 243 liked the slow burning powders.  At that time I was happy with the 243 Winchester as a varmint rifle and I started loading H414 with 80 grain bullets; a very accurate load.

This spring and summer I started developing 243 loads for deer hunting using 105 and 100 grain bullets.  Slow burning Winchester Magnum Rife Powder better known as WMR proved to be outstanding.  But with that in short supply I turned to H414 and 100-grain Nosler bullets based on other members recommendations.  H414 easily produced loads with 100-grain bullet averaging 3009 fps.  This is the load I settled on.  I had loaded a ½ more safely, but to create a wider safety margin I backed off a little more.

This H414 velocity exceeded the velocity of factor Remington and Federal ammunition.  Not only was it faster but more accurate.

Dave is right 760 (H414) is the Ball Powder answer to IMR4350.

My range day using the W760 was excellent and I shot IMR 4350 with both noslers 95 Gr. BT and sierra 85 Gr. HPBT both loads were in the ball park noslers 40.9 @ I think 40.0 in the sierra
I loaded the same set up noslers 40.0 using W760
and about the same in the sierra :
I was surprise that both loads tack drives the bullets but the W760 had less case expansion in other words it did not stretch the shoulder at all
forward,I think just neck resizing would work were the IMR 4350 I need to set the should back .003 to re chamber and sit flush with the barrel breech.
