Wicked Ridge?
« on: August 20, 2010, 06:30:07 AM »
Anyone familiar with an X-bow by Ten Point known as the Wicked Ridge?   Bass Pro has a $499.99 price on a package deal with red dot scope.

I ended up buying a Ten Point GT-Flex.  It is so accurate.  Bow season opens in a couple of weeks.

Ah yes, the recurve model. I'm looking at an Excalibur Equinox myself since Bass Pro can't give a date when th Wicked Ridge will be in.

I am not sure why I wanted a recurve over a compound.  I have a Horton compound X-boy and it shoots well too.  But I wanted the simplicity of the recurve.  It shoots much better than I expected and I am so looking forward to the opening of whitetail season in a couple of weeks..The shop I went to only sold Ten Point's and I am quit satisfied with them...

From the reviews I've read, Excalibur & Tenpoint have had the best. Now with Horton under new ownership maybe they will pull into the rear at top 3rd?

I have a Horton Yukon SL, and was ready to update it with a new string, sights etc,  but mfinding a shop that doesn't turn it's nose up at -boys around here wasn't easy.  I found an archery shop that sells new X-boys, and turns it's nose up at the same time.  Wierd

Crossbows seem to continuously get mixed reviews no matter where or what country, here in Canada it goes by provincial legislation. Here in my province of Alberta it can be used ONLY during the rifle season and a 14 day "Primitive" season in Oct where black powder and shotguns can also be used.
Either way, no matter what I carry in my hands when I'm out hunting..atleast I can be out there hunting and enjoying it.
