I gave up on all the cheap supply sources. The wax was not very clean most of the time and availability was spotty. So I started buying it from DADANT Go into their catalog and query refined beeswax.

which of the various beeswax choices did you (or would you) select from what was offered? Never know when I might try my hand at making some lube vs. buying store bought

Lloyd, you might try some of the following sources. The info is a little dated so the prices might have changed. I've purchased from Kevin Miller and have been very satisfied with the quality.

I bought the rifined yellow beeswax but im no expert maybe Billy will jump in here hes the expert on lube.

LLyod I would buy what you did if you are planing to use it for making bullet lube. As color is not realy an issue. The non bleached part is what I like. Mix correctly this would make a great bullet lube. Add some steric acid and vibar while proccessing it into lube will give it a higher melt point. Carnuba car wax will make it easier to clean out of the bore. Maybe a tad bit of sinthitic grease or even some lard. Goood for black powder. Hand cleaning Lotion with lanolin. makes it sticky. Some Parrifin no more than 5% makes it hard. Oh and even liquid alox helps. But then if I listed every thing what fun would it be for you.

going to try to make the felix lube and then take half of it and mix it with yours billy and see which way I like it better. Yours with the javalina mixed sure works great.

Guest, I've been using toilet seals for a couple of years. I'm pleased with the results. In years past the seals were beeswax, it's now my understanding that they are paraffin and mineral oil. I don't know what they are, but they are working really well for my purpose.
