The next door neighbor came over and told us the new guy (USAF G.I.)that lives on the other side of her had his burglar alarm go off around 3:00AM and he got up and started shooting blindly around the pitch black house with his .45.  Three slugs went through his wall and through their bedroom wall (newborn baby sleeping right under the holes)and exited out through the roof.  Cops didn't arrest him but probably will.  I'm betting the USAF gives him his walking papers too.

They will send him to the nut ward first.  Then when he is cleared by the Docs he will be given his walking papers.

Have seen this happen a few times on the Army Post where I worked before I retired.  War does that to some people.

that's really sad for him if it is ptsd type issues, but he's a chump that cannot handle his guns.

Recon by fire in a residential area is the act of an example of those who should not own firearms.If that would have been my wall, above my child, the police would have arrested him for, if nothing else, his personal protection.

From what I read it was his wall and his child. Fear can make people do strange and stupid things.

No, it was the neighbors wall and baby.  This is about 70 feet from my house.

Swamp I didn't hear this ,This morning, our Local had a Guy that had 2 perps in the House, He shot both one in the head the other in the gut,Both alive but one not doing well at all and they said they were Young the Cop Said
YOU DON"T Have time to ASK an intruder their age or reason and you Don't have too By LAW
  The Local PD praised him then locked him up for unrelated Drug Possession and they arrested 1 or 2 others outside his house waiting for the 2 that broke in, maybe Because this is Tampa-bay they left yours out of this morning news?
But I try and I know it means nothing about him But Tell Folks
USE A SHOT GUN they don't travel that far and Thank God No-one in either House got hurt
I agree that he will do a little time with the rubber room advisor's at the V.A.

I just read that John Wesley Hardin did that once to stop the guy from snoring in the room next to him. Killed him too. Maybe the baby was crying and keeping him up?

Do you go out on disability for PTSD? Maybe he did it intentionally to get paid.

IMO there is no good reason to shoot at an unidentified/non-existent target.  It violates the first rule of firearms safety.
