What Handi's to take south with me this year.  I will be hunting Whitetail, Turkey, and Coyotes in Tennessee,  Whitetail, Turkey, Hogs, and Coyotes in Texas, and Hogs in Florida.  I know the 30-06 is going, and probably the 25-06.  Question is do I take the .223, and the .17HMR, just for the fun of it.  The .17 would work great for Turkey.

I'd lighten the load for traveling and take just the .357 Maximum.  Nuff said.  It'll do all you want to do with the critters involved.  .38, .357 or max.

When I lived in Texas the same 45/70 I use in Alaska worked just as well there

The 30-06 with a few tailored loads for the critters in mind will do it all (as you well know), but since you already are planning to take the 25-06 why not do up a couple of game tailored loads for it too?
When making a 'trip' I like the idea of a backup rifle (in case one fails), or just for the option.

Sourdough,

With the airlines charging for all checked bags these days, I'd get a double sided gun case  and fill one side with the .25/06 and the other with the .17 and be done with it.  The .25/06 will handle all your hunting chores by it's self for all the hunting you mentioned unless you find a black bear hunt in East Tennessee. 

Now, if you don't mind paying for more than one gun case, a second double sided gun case would bring all four of the shootin irons you mentioned and you'd have double redundancy.  Happy Huntin!!!
