update on damascus bowie
« on: December 09, 2003, 01:02:15 PM »
Just now got motivated to continue on the project, since last I have fittied a nickel silver guard to it, I finally gave up on finding 1/16th micarta and went with 1/8" red and black with nickel silver spacers.  I was going to use turquoise, but decided that green wavy malachite would look best.  I still plan on using the fossil walrus ivory, red, silver, black and a 1/4" nickel silver cap.  Which I plan to dome and flute and add a 1/4" domed fluted ball I made with a drill press and file for the finish.  If some one will email how to post a pic (in english)  I will.  But I will have them available for any who wants to see it.  rdjamieson@aol.com
Retired Military, 21 years US Navy Seabees started making knives about 5 years ago.  Really like it alot.  Build mostly hunters & skinning knives with a few big bowies.  Logo is grizzly paw.
