silver offset rings
« on: September 11, 2010, 02:53:30 PM »
I have a Kimber stainless with a Leupold compact scope that is too far forward. I need some silver offset rings to move the scope back. Any idea where I can get some?

Had the same problem with my scope . With the regular rings the field of view was too far forward . Since I had weaver bases I had double extended rings installed which brought the scope back enough to view.

With another gun with Leupold base's and rings , I manged to go the same, with just one extended ring on the front , allowing the scope to move back about an inch.
In both situations , I was tranfering scopes from a short action rifle to that of a long action.

Compact scopes do not allow much movement to correct eye relief, at least not on long actions , so try to avoid this by getting a scope with more ER .

Gander mtn could not get extension rings and I contacted Leupold to ask if I could get custom ones, and they never got back to me.

A gun is just like a parachute, if you ever really need one, nothing else will do.
