Question from Germany
« on: October 09, 2010, 09:42:15 AM »
Hi Folks,
I am new here and also I am new as an owner of a wonderful FA 83 Mod. 353 in 357 Magnum.

Does anyone know what the production year could be and if the caliber 375 Super Magnum works in that gun?

Serialnumber is H 0195 (seems very low) with big frame and only 5 chambers in that huge cylinder.

Stay sharp
uwe

The .357 Super Mag (.357 Maximum) will not work. However, the Mdl. 353 is quite strong and can be loaded to perform very well. My lowest S/N Mdl. 353 is H 0186. Although I bought it used just last year, Bob Baker told me it was built in October 1993. Yours was likely built a bit later that year.

FA353 - not sure if you meant 357 super mag or 375 super mag, as you probably just transposed the numbers, but neither will work.  The 375 super mag takes a .376 diameter bullet.

That's a mighty nice looking revolver you have there.
