Probably me but I owned both and the 7.5 inch shot much better but was a pain to carry. The 5.5 was a nice trail gun.

which model????  I agree with Noreaster....7.5 shoots better, 5.5 is all around easier to deal with.

I bought the 7.5 inch. The 10" was cartoonishly long. The 7.5 is long but very manageable. The 5.5 would be good, and there are times that I would like it to be that short, but I would regret it if I had bought one. I think its just about perfect for the most part. I carry it in a cross draw on my left side.

I would ask ..what are you intending to use it for ?  General use , hiking , trapping , hunting ....probably the 5.5 but if its gonna be pretty much hunting only....I'd opt for the 7.5.    Sounds like its already ordered , I was gonna suggest the Redhawk.  Its a fine handgun , can be had in various configurations.   and its as strong as a tank !

OMHO  , regards , irold

I wanted the Black Hawk for the strength I load a bit I'm really a S&W person but have a soft spot for the single actions It will more then likely ride around the farm with me and shoot everything from groundhogs to BS
Deer season I'd like to scope it My eyes are getting old
