What do you guys think of the Cheap Shots? Thinking about getting a few hundred to learn the gun with.

I've found them to be highly accurate in many rifles and deadly on deer sized game.

Thanks guy. I just can't justify $1.25 per bullet, when these can be had for $.25!!!

I am going to order some tomorrow and try 80, 90, 100, and 110 grain charges of Pyrodex to check for accuracy.

I will report back when I get set up and get to the range.

hey if they shoot good in your rifle hunt with them too a.25cent hole is the same as a1.25 cent hole.

I like them very much. They are very similar or identical to Hornady XTP bullets and shoot to the same POI.
I hunt with them over 80 grains of BH 209.
Accuracy wise, they are great in my rifle. I tried them and compared them with Hornady SSTand TC shockwaves (tipped bullets) and found them almost as accurate 1.5" vs 2" groups at 100. However, the CheapShot and the XTP bullets have a more arched trajectory and rise and drop more at 50 and 100 with my load.
They are a good practice and hunting bullet.

I have shot a couple bags of them through my ML's, but I prefer the Great Plains Conicals in 385gr.  Lot more energy and in my guns at least they were a bit more consistent accuracy wise.  8)

I wouldn't hunt with a gun that shot a 4" circle at 100 yards.

I wouldn't hunt with a gun that shot a 4" circle at 100 yards.

I am the same way if I am shooting centerfire, but these bullets and the new Optima Magnum will only be used in dense bottoms where we are going hunting. The hunts I bought it specifically for, the guys say a max 75 yards of line of sight. I am only looking for 2" at 50 yards right now.

I have never done any muzzleloading at all, so I will be shooting bow range shots more than anything. I will set sights for dead on or 1" high @ 50 yards.

I do plan on hunting with the Cheap Shot if I can get them to group.
