Can't find serial number on Savage 99 250-3000

I have a Savage 99 and the only markings I can find on the gun are as follows:

Left side of receiver "SS" in an oval and "R D 316"
Left side barrel "250-3000 savage"
Top of barrel "SP3"

Gun has the following features:
1) Tang safety
2) Beaver tail foregrip
3) Savage recoil pad
4) Williams rear sight

Trying to determine year of manufacture
