Mounting a Harris Bi pod on a Lone Eagle?
« on: November 23, 2003, 12:53:30 PM »
Hi guys.:D
I would like to put the shortest bi pod that Harris makes on my LE.
Has anyone done this before?
What would be the best stud to use?
Any other advice on mounting or hardware to use?

Also since I’m not familiar with Harris bi pods and since they make several different models with different options for each in the short version I don’t know which on to buy.

I want the legs to be totally adjustable for elevation not just at some preset points.

I also want a stud built into the bi pod for mounting a sling.

I don’t want the one that tilts from side to side between the legs and mount assembly.

And finally does Harris have a web site or do you know of a web site with info about Harris bi pods?
Thanks.

Couldn't find a specific site for Harris, but this should give you plenty to look at:

http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=harris+bipod&cp=1252

I don't know about mounting it. From pics, you could use a sling swivel stud on the forearm... If you put some forethought into it. Or, (my  second choice) you could use a barrel-band type sling swivel mount. Hope this helps... BTW, I am sending you a PM..................Bug.

if you are set on doing this, why not use the barrel mount from harris. it clamps right on your barrel. fox ridge outfitters sell them for the contenders but should work ok on the LE.

I’m not to keen on the idea of having a clamp on my barrel.
It may be perfectly fine to do that but its just not for me.

Hey,
I  bought the Lone Eagle because he handle more like a handgun.
I have had bipods on the Contenders but I just use a day pack or shooting stick . The bipod makes things bulky. Make sure you get the bipod that swivels.
Good luck in your quest
