Encore: Williams FP or 5D and factory 24" front sight?

Has anyone tried the Williams FP or 5D receiver sight with the factory 24" iron front sight?  How did it work?

I would like to know myself would like to put one on a 45-70 barrel.

      I shoot a FP on a 18" 45-70 Katahden barrel with the original fire sight on the front.  The front sight covers up a little more target than I'd like, but with old eyes on a froggie morning it's easy to find.

Works great on a 24" 30/30,.  Get the  FP,   the 5D  are a PIA to adjust with their tiny screws.  I'm always afrid of overtightening  them.. Tho I do have 3 of'em on different barrels.
