Okay first off i want to say that this experiment was given the OK by Western Powders.
I am using a small booster charge of 5 grains Jim Shockeys Gold 3f. This is such a small charge that it will NOT create dangerous pressures or disrupt the Blackhorn209.
Using my brothers CVA Hawken .50cal built back in 1987, this rifle has a 28" barrel with 1:48 twist and shallow rifling. A great shooter with 90gr JSG 3F and the 295gr Powerbelts.
I first load the Booster charge, smack the rifle to shift the powder under the nipple and then pour the 80gr blackhorn209 charge down and seat a 295gr Powerbelt.
This video takes place at the 75 yard line.
