Howdy and THANKS!
« on: December 12, 2003, 10:47:58 AM »
Hello folks. I've been lurking on the site, particularly this forum, for a few weeks now and decided to say "Hello" and thanks to y'all I just got done ordering a (supposedly not available very often) demo RWS 36 in .177 from Air Gun Express.

Historically I've been an NRA Service Rifle type of guy (usually .308 M1As), but lately have been getting into air rifles for amusement and general skills upkeep right in the backyard. And the ammo cost is *significantly* less to say the least, haha. Eventually, if I get around to joining the local range, I might even take a crack at air rifle competition. Otherwise I've been keeping myself occupied lately with a $38.-- Wally World Daisy 880 (yes, no comments necessary but otherwise welcome -- I knew what it was going in and had my reasons, neighborhood stealth for one) -- satisfactory for now but othewise no great expectations. It is *usually* more predictable than my slingshot expertise   Might even get my otherwise pretty liberal Democrat, Kentucky bred bride-to-be to take up an interest in the unspeakable... :P

Anyway, hello once again, thank you for the informative commentary/advice and I'll see you around on the forums.

Best regards,
Ron

Hello there:

Welcome to this great forum. You did well, choosing the M-36 RWS. They have boo coos of guys (maybe some gals) on here that really are great to help anyone out. Glad to have you aboard. I have got addicted to this Air Gun thing, and I'm telling you, it's fun. I'm spending a lot more money on this now than my regular powder burners.

Keep us posted and all the latest news. When I'm not too busy, I check this forum out several times a day. Better go, today I've been busy making wildcat cases out of 223 cases. Made a bunch of 30/223, and some 221 Fireball.

See you later, have fun, shoot safe.

lindylars,

Welcome to Graybeard Outdoors, the best forum on the net for hunters/shooters.  The RWS 34m is a great choice.  Only thing is I think you will find that you just caught a bug.  The next thing you will know is that you will want a better rifle for the taking of small game.  One that is a larger caliber.  This habit really takes hold when you get away from pump up models.  Breakers comes next and the ease of just cocking, loading and shooting leads you on to bigger and better rifles.  Next thing you know you will be spending more money on air rifles/guns than you are on powder rifles.  So far I haven’t found a cure for this bug so if you do let me know.  Again welcome to Graybeard Outdoors.  Lawdog
