Still no rain. We finished Sept with officially .12 hundreds of an inch, my ga showed .1 tenth. Dryest Sept in our history, 3 rd dryest month ever. Well under 4 in total for July and Aug. My pond is down at least 4 1/2 - 5 ft. Well over 1/2 the ponds around here are completely dry. I have been to the woods at least 1/2 dz times the past 2 weeks and haven't seen even one squirrel. Yesterday I saw a lot of walnuts and hickory nuts on the ground. I looked closely and there was not one nut that had been cut on. I brought several nuts home and cracked them open and found no meat, all dried up. I'm afraid if we get a hard winter my fish will die from lack of oxygen when it ices over. No rain forecast for the next 7-10 days. Gonna be a hard winter on the critters. POWDERMAN.

Yep; powderman, hasn't been that long ago when one of my ponds was so dry I took the tractor and box blade to hollow out as much of the bottom as I could without getting stuck in that underlying goo.   Hope you get some rain before the freeze hits.

Kinda dry here in southeast Texas as well. But we always have dry summers. Looking forward to some Rain in the cold months and we'll complain about that too!

SOURDOUGH. About 60 miles SW of Louisville Kentucky. News said tonight there is a slight chance of a shower tomorrow afternoon, not to exceed 1/10 of an inch. I'm tired of dipping water from the pond for the garden,been doing it 2-3X a week all summer, only thing left is a few tomatoes and some turnips. I  dropped a shovel point down on the ground and it clanked like concrete. POWDERMAN.

Well I know where all your rain went, and I wish it had stayed down there.  Here in the Interior of Alaska we are classified as arrid, we had more rain this year than I have ever seen in 40 years.  All the berries were ripe two to three weeks early.  Rivers were high so Salmon fishing was not good.

Hope you guys get some rain.  Maybe one of those tropical depressions will come up the gulf and then run up through Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky.  Dad has been complaining about how dry it has been there.  He lives 40 miles east of Nashville.

         Well Fellas , Here in Australia we get our fair share of drought ,but 2010 has been the wettest year for quite a while. I don't know if the Global Warming / Climate change thing is for real or not but I believe where the weather is concerned ,a man can expect average conditions but should plan for the worst.
If it not a drought it's a flood. If i had to choose i'd take flood every time ,cause you can't make money from dust.

Algore caused all of these weather problems; until he is disposed of the weather will continue to be unpredictable.

HEH. Well, it happened, a shower, didn't register in my rain gauge and didn't settle the dust, but it was wet I reckon. POWDERMAN.

Me neither! but one thing I'm pretty sure of is that MAN cant do a danged thing about it one way or the other!The earth warms and it cools and man is not responsible for either! Now some men making millions and billions (algore) trying to say so is a definite possibility
