Blackhawk barrel swap...
« on: February 09, 2011, 06:37:47 AM »
I have a New Model Blackhawk with a 7-1/2'' barrel and am looking at swapping a 4-5/8'' stainless barrel onto it. Is this something that can be sufficiently accomplished in the home workshop or should it be sent to a gunsmith? I'd also be interested in having the forcing cone and crown re-done so at least the barrel will be sent out...

Best bet is to have it all done at once by someone that knows what they're doing.  That'll assure (if it's a GOOD gunsmith) that the sight and ER attatchment is all in line properly.

Yeah, as much of a diy guy I try to be, might be best to collect all the parts and send it off to a proper 'smith...
