« on: October 06, 2010, 04:30:19 PM »

All the pistol loads within SAAMI spec should be fine for your handi also.  In addition, there are different loads, some using rifle powders in some data for rifles/carbines.  I get a number of loads from Handloads.com for pistol cartridges in rifles.  Might want to check them out.  8)  This is a link to the .357 Magnum loads for 158 gr. bullets, but you can use the pull down to change the weight bullets to be used.  I've gotten some great loads from their database.  8)

Most load books have data for both handgun and carbine with the .357.
Get a good manual like Lyman.

Use the same load for the rifle as you do for the pistol.  The velocity gain is tremendous, 300 to over 400 fps over a 4 to 6 in revolver with top loads of W-296/ H-110 or LilGun.  IMR 4227 and Accurate #9 are a couple other good powders.  Enjoy the addiction, it's a good ride. ;) ;D  DP

Welcome to the addiction the only cure is more handi's, any safe pistol loads will be fine in your 357.
an unloaded wepon is equal to the same mass and volume as a rock.
