BPI - RSS Sabot
« on: February 26, 2011, 01:54:28 PM »
Anybody having any luck with accuracy with these? Tried all sorts of combinations without much luck.  Shooting the RSS out of Encore 12 so twist should be fine for them. Tried 800X, SR4756 and Blue Dot so far with 50 cal 350 XTP, 300 FTX and 326 XPB Barnes. Appreciate any insight if you go them to fly good. Otherwise, SPW's seem to be best by far out of Encore. May try the IDS Commanders.
Thanks,
Muddy.

Foget the RSS it's way under sized. You can now get the SPW's without the hammerhead slug and put any .50 bullet of choise in them. I've loaded and shot around three hundred of the Lightfield Commander IDS and they are just as accurate as the SPW's but at a higher price.

Eyeshot,
My experience seems to indicate the sabot is not opening consistently which takes the bullet all over the place.  Been using 375 XPB Barnes in the SPW sabot for couple years and shoots pretty good. Always looking for the holy grail slug. So far, SPW and IDS have not been beaten from my book. Thanks for response.
