good...and cheap spotter
« on: January 16, 2011, 06:14:30 AM »
I got a Celestron C70 mak for Christmas..just took it out yesterday to sight in my Hornet.  Works great...25-75 power.  I didn't even take it off 25x to spot my target at 100.  It has the 45 degree eyepiece. Celestron offers a no-fault replacement too.  You drop it..they'll fix or replace.  It comes with a plastic tripod, which works ok if you keep your hands off the scope.  If I went to the range everyday or even 3 times a week I'd probably get a rigid "real" tripod to put it on.  I have a couple of Tiltall professional ones but it didn't bother me enough to mount it on one.
$67 delivered from a seller on the bay, you can find 'em.  I know......but...money, honey.  Anyway, you're buying from a seller..not the "bay".
the image does get dark and not too sharp at 75x...but I don't need 75x.  If you do, get a good 10mm fixed eyepiece and put on it, and there ya go.
