10/22 barrel on a 77/22

are the barrels between a 10/22 and a 77/22 interchangable or did I waste my money and yes both are 22 lr

Last time I looked into it a couple years ago---you could use a 77/22 barrel in a 10/22 but you needed a spacer and there was some outfit selling different colored spacers---as to the other way around I'm not sure because my focus was using a 77/22 barrel in a 10/22------I never did do it and went with a 10/22 specific barrel.

  I do agree with the above regarding spacers.  I'm thinking going the opposite way there'd be just the opposite need - taking out material due to the length of the shank.  I do know 96/22 bbls will work fine in a 10/22.

a talented machinist can fix you right up.  it's a matter of lenghtening the shank.
be sure and have your measurements right.
