Two Way Radio - Need Adcice

For deer hunting I'm going to buy a two way radio set.  Today's paper:  Motorola T9590 FRS for $70.  Udiden GMRS 380-2 for $30. Cobra Talk for $25.  Which is the best set?  They will be used about three days a year.

I have a set of Motorola T5820 and think they are great.  You do not need to spend that much money to get great pertformane,  You just need to make sure you get the 5 mile range modles that have 1 watt GMRS channels.  The 5820 go for around 120.00 a pair and they have a $25.00 rebate.  The other model I would look at would be the T5950 new for this year that has a weather channel if that excites you these are $109 for the a pair.  I used the 5820 out in Utah last year and had great range.   I also used them in the woods of VA with my buddies without problems.  The maan thing I like about these is that they are very user friendly.  Easy to tell a freind in the morning what buttons to push.  Some are so confusing they never get used.

I have used several radios for hunting in the Pennsylvania mountains.  Motorola distance radios, T7200, Cobra, and all of these have been somewhat successful.  Due to terrain we have some difficulty between certain stand locations.  This year I purchased a pair of Midland G300's.  They clearly outdistanced the opther radios.  Reception and transmission were noticably better.  We were even able to talk clearly between the stand locations where we had trouble with the other radios.  The only issue was placing them in a pocket.  This seemed to interfere with reception.  We plan to get shoulder harnesses and use them next year.

Overall, I highly recommend the G300's based on my experience.

IMHO, Motorolas are the best.
For long term satisfaction i`d recommend buying one with the VOX option, multiple channels w/interference codes, and one that will except disposable or rechargeable batteries.
