Thompson Center Impact
« on: October 08, 2010, 08:30:57 AM »
I was checking out the sportsmans guide when I came accross a TC Impact in there it is $250 and $330 with a scope I figured I can pay for this but is it worth getting I think it's fairly new but not sure does anyone have one? I was also looking at a TC Triumph thats about $500 and looks really nice but I don't need something all that great would the Impact be good enough?

Thank you

Well I had the same decision to make and I decided to go with the CVA Optima 209 Magnum Black Synthetic with Stainless. I paid $279 for the gun with starter kit from Cabelas and right now they have $5 shipping. The gun shoots awesome with the provided Shockwave bullets and Pyro Pellets.

I did not care for the TC Impact. I finally got my hands on one this weekend at a store and the barrel release felt cheesy. The lock up did not feel good and it did not fit me well.

The Optima locks like a bank vault and feels great. I would strongly recommend the Optima.

I have a friend who bought an inpact. He is shootign 2 50 grain pyro pellets and 250 grain shockwave.  He mounted a nikon scope on it.  It shoots great and the lock up sure seems good with 100 grains of powder. I lie the adjustable stock for smaller stature people.  I am thinking of getting one and I shoot an encore.

I may have gotten one that was out of the ordinary but it seemed loose and felt awkward. I am glad there are so many to choose from because that way we can all have one we like. I am glad your friend got a good one.
