Well, I'm going to be sticking with Starline brass in 10mm.  I have about 200 pieces of it freshly polished from a trip to the range so I'll have to take a look at it carefully when I get home.

I plan on full length sizing my brass.   I always do in every caliber.

i dont load hot at all.  i am a firm believer in mid range loads.   look up the 10mm in a reloading manual, then look at the bottom load for a given bullet and powder, then look at the maximum load for the same combination.  i usually split the difference then tweek it as needed to ensure clean powder burn and accurate ammuntion.
brass is winchester and starline.  as far as how many loadings...i cant honestly say.  we inspect brass as it is loaded and we also load in bulk.    it might take a few years for the same piece of brass to be fired more than once.   i have never marathon fired brass to see how many loadings i could get out of one piece.  if it looks iffy when i go to load it, i throw it out.

I usually find my most accurate loads in the middle of the load data like you're saying.  I never want to push my luck, but in this case I do want to make sure I get the benefit of buying a 10mm over just buying a regular .40.

there is no need to hotrod a 10mm.   you will know that it is definately more than a 40, even with mid range loads.  there is a huge amount of difference.

I have a  10mm. It's a great cartridge. I rarely shoot it anymore as I don't need the velocity gain over the .40 to do what I do. Besides, I hate losing the 10mm brass. It's not commonly found on the ranges I use.

LOL at the range over the weekend I laid out a wool blanket over the ground to catch most of the brass which I normally never do.  That stuff is like gold.

I shoot very little on a static range. My shooting is a 50rd qualification once a year, and shooting action pistol sports (Two-Four weekends per month). No matter what you do, you are going to lose a lot of brass in these games. The 10mm is a hoot to shoot, but I shoot mine very little anymore. I pick up enough 9/40/45 brass on the range to keep me going.

At the last Glock match I was a safety officer we laid out blue tarps. We each got a 5 gal. bucket full of mixed brass. I ended up with about 200 10mm. and a zillion 9mm  ;D

That's a good way to go for something like a GSSF match where you have known common firing points. We use a tarp when we shoot NRA center fire falling plates.

I've been a reloader and range chicken for over 45 years, so it's nothing new to me. What I'm seeing now, more are getting into reloading, or considering it due to the cost of ammo. Lot's of competition for range brass these days.

I really like the catridge, good fit for my area. I carried a 10mm while bow hunting in case a bear came in and offered a shot. I had a older model Glock 20 and sold it. I had trouble finding ammo to plink with, carried double tap for hunting. I'd like to try the CZ 10mm, haven't seen one for sale yet.

That's the truth, we have a retired guy at one range that picks it up and sells it as scrap .

Those work pretty good on concrete, not so much on tiny gravel.  For the right application those are simply incredible tools though.  Unfortunately where I shoot the pistol area is in tiny gravel.

I don't really want a 1911 in anything else other than a 45acp.  Anything in a 1911 other than a 45 just feels dirty.
What? All of my 10mm's are 1911's except for the GP100 that I had rechambered for 10mm.  ;D

I did not know the 1911 was chambered for anything else.  :D

No, thats right, I think I have a TRP in somthing called 45ACP???? :D

I have a stainless Delta Elite I have owned since either late 1989 or early 1990...can't remember which.  I have had two blued ones over the years, which have gotten away from me.  I recently traded into a Colt Double Eagle in 10mm.

I would love to have a S&W 610, but just have not ran across the right bargain to date.

I stocked up on brass years ago.  I have a thousand new Starline Brass rounds and a couple thousand once or twice fired rounds of brass laid back.  I had a friend found 900 rounds of Masters 200 grain FMJ in his gun room; leftovers from when he had a Glock 20. He made me a great price on them, and I snapped them up.

Sounds like you're where I'd want to be with reloading supplies.  I started out buying a 500rd "canned heat" package from georgia arms and they use starline brass.  Then I bought some bullets and an extra 500 pcs of starline brass.  Unfortunately I messed up a couple pieces of the brass when I was getting the dies all setup so my numbers aren't perfect.  I'm hoping to get a chance today to go to an indoor range to test out some of my handloads.  I have my fingers crossed because I'm using berry's plated bullets.

S+W 1006 pretty much does it for me.... I do have a RIA 1911 that I've "hotrodded" that's a pretty slick little shooter, but they say "there's no substitute for cubic inches" just my 2c. Shane
