Cast for 40 S&W

Has anyone tryed cast for the 40 S&W? Do you think WW will do for it and do you think it would need gas checks? I cast for some other pistol bullets and would like tp do so for the 40 if it will work.

Veral made me a 170 grain truncated nose 4 cavity mold several years ago---sans gas checks.  I've shot thousands of hese thru 4 different 40 S&W semi-autos.  Alloy is 3 parts wheel weights and one part pure lead.  Used LBT Blue for lube and never had any leading.

I've been shooting cast in a P-229 Sig in 40 S&W for the past ten years. Using a LBT WFN 185 grain mold. Mostly water dropped straight wheelweights, LBT Blue lube, no problems at all.

I also firelapped the barrel using one of Veral Smith's firelap kits. I did have a bit of leading on the lands prior to firelapping but none that didn't come out easy using a shreds from a copper chore girl pot scrubber wrapped around an undersized brass bore brush.
