That is the answer for those seeking maximum power from a cap & ball revolver, but I really can't see the point. It's a very expensive conversion and since the "Old Army" is not a traditional revolver to start with and becomes even less traditional after conversion one may just as well pack a .44 mag. If you prefer shooting blackpowder the .45 Colt does very well with blackpowder handloads, probably the .44 mag as well. Either way, the guns are much lighter, handier, far more reliable and far less expensive.
